DaVinci Praline Syrup is named for the original confection and tastes like mild pecans lightly toasted in butter with sugar and vanilla. With over 60 classic flavors, all DaVinci Classic syrups are made from pure cane sugar and specially formulated not to curdle milk, holding up well under heat. Syrups may be used for flavored teas, slushes, smoothies, juice, frozen yogurt, shaved ice, hand-crafted Italian sodas, lattes, mochas, steamers, iced coffee, lemonades, Italian sodas, and even alcoholic cocktails.

Hazelnut Turtle Latté

Yield: 1-12 oz.

1/2 ounce Ghirardelli Sweet Ground Chocolate & Cocoa Flavored Sauce
1/2 ounce Ghirardelli Creamy Caramel Flavored Sauce
1/2 ounce Da Vinci Praline Syrup
2 ounces brewed espresso coffee
8 ounces steamed milk

Combine sauces, syrup and espresso in 12-oz. mug. Stir until well combined. Pour steamed milk into mug; stir to combine. Top with froth from steamed milk. Sprinkle with Ghirardelli Cocoa or drizzle with Ghirardelli Sweet Ground Chocolate & Cocoa Flavored Sauce and/or Creamy Caramel Flavored Sauce. Sprinkle with toasted chopped hazelnuts, if desired.

For Iced Hazelnut Turtle Latté: Use cold milk in place of steamed milk. Combine all ingredients and pour over one cup of ice into a 16-oz. glass. Garnish with whipped cream and drizzle with Ghirardelli Sweet Ground Chocolate & Cocoa Flavored Sauce and/or Creamy Caramel Flavored Sauce. Sprinkle with toasted chopped hazelnuts, if desired. Serving/Yield - 1-16 oz.

Baked Praline Yams with Pecan Streusel Topping

Ingredients:
Yams:
1/2 cup Da Vinci Praline syrup
6 medium sized yams, peeled and sliced 1/4- inch thick
1 tsp. salt
4 Tbsp. butter

Streusel Topping:
1/4 cup Da Vinci Praline syrup
1/2 cup pecan pieces
1/4 cup flour
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 Tbsp. butter, chilled and cut into small pieces
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon

Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 375 F. Butter a casserole dish and layer the yams inside, sprinkling with salt. Dot the top with butter and pour syrup over. Cover and bake for 30 minutes, basting occasionally. Meanwhile, mix the streusel topping ingredients together. When casserole has baked for 30 minutes, sprinkle topping over casserole. Bake, uncovered for another 30 minutes.

Notes:
This southern-style rendering of holiday yams tastes almost like a dessert.
